Matthias Overmann
Background:
I am a Ph.D. student in the Institute of Data Science in Biomedicine at TU Braunschweig. I studied biology at TU BS, where I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees. During my bachelor’s program, I focused on neuroscience and developed an interest in bioinformatics. This interest led me to specialize in bioinformatics and data science during my master’s program.
I began working in this institute as a student research assistant, primarily writing a comprehensive script for the Network Biology lecture. I also wrote my master’s thesis here, titled “Simulation-Based Evaluation of Precision Matrix Estimation Methods for the Development of Differential Network Analysis Tools.” In my current Ph.D. work, I focus on precision matrix estimation and dynamic Bayesian networks.
