Background:
I am a PhD student in the Institute of Data Science in Biomedicine. After completing my Bachelor and Master theses in biology here at TU Braunschweig, I wanted to focus more on investigating biological and medical problems with methods from Computer and Data Science. Currently, I am working on analyzing 3D imaging data with and without AI. For my main project at the moment I am implementing a software tool for conducting automated spine density and morphology analysis from microscopy images of neuronal dendrites. Previously, I worked with neural networks to classify Alzheimer’s Disease and its early stages from PET brain scans, examining different techniques such as transfer learning and sequential models to enhance performance.
