Gordon Grabert

Background:
I am currently pursuing my PhD at the Institute of Data Science in Biomedicine at TU Braunschweig, where I develop statistical and computational methods for quantitative and population genetics. Before starting my PhD, I completed both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology at TU Braunschweig. My research aims to bridge theoretical advances in quantitative genetics with modern statistical modelling. Specifically, I develop efficient methods to estimate additive and non-additive genetic variances and covariances for multivariate phenotypes, including traits that deviate from normality. By improving inference for correlated traits, my work contributes to a deeper understanding of the genetic architecture underlying complex phenotypes. This research is conducted in collaboration with the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, where I am a guest researcher.
